Permanently Remove Cat Urine Smell From Wood and House Interiors – Video
Written by Larry C. on May 2nd, 2010This video is from a guy who buys and sells homes and also have a few income properties, and has found how to remove cat urine smell permanently from the home. Removing the cat urine smell permanently is sometimes very involved because the urine has soak all the way down into the wood of the home or furniture. If this is the case you will have to follow this mans suggestions to remove the cat piss smell from the wood and then seal it so it cannot come back out if any is left over.
This is by far the best video I’ve found on removing cat pee odor from a home that had been damaged by cat pee. It goes in depth about the products used and how to use them. I am sure this will be a home saver for many people.
I’ve never tried Orofix Plus but the guy in the video is telling the truth in regards to what must be done to get rid of cat urine smell. Bleach and ammonia products DO NOT WORK.
First You must physically remove as much of the contaminated area and materials as possible such as carpeting, flooring, drywall, etc. It all has to go. If anything is left that cannot be removed, then it should be coated in Zinsser B-I-N Primer or Ultimate Stain Blocker. It’s a lacquer you can find at Home Depot in a red & white canister.
The Zinsser B-I-N Primer seals the smell in so it can’t get out. This is the same way hotels convert a smoking room into a non-smoking room. They treat all the walls, the ceiling and the flooring (after removing the carpet) with a sealing primer. They do this because trying to clean out the smell is impossible.
This approach is for extreme cases, and for people who might rent homes or apartments. Landlords and maintenance people. This is a last resort if you have to remove everythign down to the bare bones of the home to remove cat urine smell embedded in the wood or flooring.
